Cherish-Protect and care for (someone) lovingly. Hold (something) dear. Keep (a hope or ambition) in one’s mind.
Do we cherish those that we love? Do we ever tell them just how much we love them, and do we ever do-little things to show them that we care? How often do we do something just because we want to make someone smile to brighten their day? If we did, would we expect something in return? I cannot speak for everyone, but whenever I do something for someone, I never expect anything in return because I did it for them just to make them happy out of the kindness of my heart. Those things are the things that we should cherish the most. When we do things for someone, it makes you feel good inside, it makes your heart happy. There is nothing wrong with making someone’s day just a little brighter.
Those of us who are married, every day is not going to be roses. Every day will be different and have problems of their own. When those days are not going so well, do we stop cherishing the one we love, the one we will be forever spending our life with? Do we let the love fade, or do we work to make it strong even through the problems of the day? I know that there will be days when everything is going great and there are no problems, and love is in the air, do we only cherish those moments, or do we cherish the good with the bad and fall in love all over again? We work through it all, the bitter with the sweet. When we are way up in age, those moments we share together are like platinum and gold. We count the times we smile and laugh. We count the times we cried, we count the times we went on long trips and rides together, we remember all of those things, but what matters the most is that we are together.
Even when a relationship is fresh and new, there will be moments of doubt. We have to really know for ourselves that we are ready to settle down with the one we love forever. Forever is a very long time. It is a lot of years of give and take, ups and downs, heartaches, and heartbreaks, and tears, but through it all we learn how to work through those things when we really love someone. Relationships are tested for as long as two people are together under the same roof or not. You can’t listen to the noise around you because that is what can ruin a relationship no matter how long two people have been together, married or not. Trust is the foundation for any relationship no matter how young it is, or how old it is, that is the most important thing.
Cherish every moment you are together, through the good and the bad times. It will be alright. Say I Love You and smile. ©2022
