Why Technology Is Important

What’s something most people don’t understand?

Most older people don’t understand why technology is important, let me elaborate. Back in the day we didn’t have technology, and who would have ever thought that what we have now would come along. Some older people have never used a computer, or a smart device to look for things, or shop on line for groceries, or clothes, and other things that they may want, or like.

This is why there should be classes offered free of charge to help them learn about technology and how to utilize it. There are some young folk who’ve never used technology because they don’t understand it. I know that I still don’t know a lot about certain things concerning technology, but I am thankful that I was introduced to computers, and the typewriter at a young age. I was taught how to text by someone I worked with. I didn’t know how to send messages, or answer back. My baby taught me how to use my first smartphone. I was very technologically challenged. I was afraid to push buttons because I was afraid I was going to mess something up and not know how to fix it.

I was completely lost when I got my first iPhone. She taught me how to use it also. I asked so many questions until I learned how to use it, and now it is like I have been using them all of the time. I still don’t know all of the texting abbreviations, that’s why I type everything out, I don’t abbreviate unless I know the abbreviation of the word, or phrase I am Typing.

The new Artificial Intelligence that’s out now, I don’t know a lot about it, but I am learning different things about it when I experiment with it when I need a quick picture, or a quick paragraph when I am writing. Technology is fun when you learn how to use it. The smart television is another thing I had to learn about when we purchased one. It was difficult at first, but now it is quite easy to operate. I grew up with the regular television that you switch on and the picture came in. Now you have to program the remote, get a signal, and program the channels before you can even watch television. I remember when there were only local channels to watch, but if you lived in the country, there were only one channel to watch until they added another channel in the programming. Remember the big satellite dishes you had to have installed in the yard, to get other channels? Remember the antenna that was metal that was attached to your house to get channels to come in clear? Thank God for the new inventions!

Technology can be confusing, but it is very good to have. Everything revolves around technology now. Nothing is how it was back then. As long as technology keeps growing, we will keep learning something new to help improve things this day and age. Who knows how things will be ten, or twenty years from now? Look at the new vehicles, they have really evolved from way back when. The world is ever changing, and we have to change with it if we want to be up on what’s new In technology.
