Brokenhearted

“Hearts break, but in due time they will mend again.” – Shaunelius L. Sterns

There are things that happen in our life that will break our hearts. When that happens, it takes a good while for our hearts to mend. Death is one of those things. It is something that is apart of life that we cannot escape.

It causes void to seem endless. It causes numbness in the soul and the heart of those who are hurting. It causes one to think about their life and the decisions that have been made. You reassess your priorities and what’s important.

Time can change how one reacts to different things, situations, and events in their life. When something like death happens, it is very hard to get over. There’s shock to the heart and mind. It is complete devastation. There is no joy in death for those who have been left behind when someone loses someone they love. We find ways to cope and deal with the loss. We learn how to get over the grief even though it still hurts. We learn how to process our feelings so we can keep moving on with our life. It is something we have to get over one day at a time no matter how long it takes.

The only thing we can do is remain strong through the process of grieving. Depression is another factor in the grieving process. We have to find things to do so we do not focus on the hurt that we are feeling. We have to think positive, healthy thoughts. We can exercise to burn off calories that we have put on from stress eating. We can read good books that will make us laugh and make our heart happy. We can walk to our favorite park and enjoy the singing of the birds, enjoy our surrounding, and meditate. There are so many things to do so we can keep up our morale.

Singing and listening to your favorite kind of music is another way to remain positive and hopeful. Forgetting bad memories that comes to mind. Being brokenhearted is something that we all have experienced, but we need to remember that death is apart of life and we all will experience it some day. So, until then, we must enjoy life to the fullest, and live everyday as if it is our last, and laugh a lot. Enjoy every moment. Everyday is a blessing to be alive on this side of heaven even when we are brokenhearted. ©2022
